Altar Servers play an important role in the celebration of the Mass. They assist the priest and deacon by carrying the processional cross and candles, holding the book for the priest when he is not at the altar, presenting the bread, wine, and water during the preparation of the gifts, and washing the priest’s hands. Altar Servers help ensure that the liturgy flows smoothly and reverently, serving with attentiveness, respect, and devotion.

The Angel News Team is made up of eighth-grade students who meet before school Tuesday through Thursday in the technology lab. They take on the roles of scriptwriters, anchors, and producers—filming, preparing, and delivering our school’s morning announcements. Each broadcast includes prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, our school mission, weekly reminders, Angel birthdays, a holy quote, the Mass response of the week, and a fun fact. Through this leadership opportunity, students gain experience in public speaking, teamwork, and digital media production.

Students in grades 7 and 8 can participate in Angels Band through their music elective or by joining the after-school band program, open exclusively to 7th and 8th graders or students who already play instruments. Band members learn to play instruments in the percussion, woodwind, and brass families, building their musical skills while performing at school events, parades, and pep rallies. The Angels Band brings energy and school spirit wherever they perform!

Students in grades 7 and 8 may choose Angel Choir as their music elective, and students in grades 4–8 are also invited to join the after-school choir program. This talented group leads our school in song each week at Mass and performs at various events and programs throughout the year. Known for their beautiful harmonies and dedication, the Angel Choir recently earned the highest award at a performance competition at Universal Studios—a true testament to their hard work and passion for music.

Battle of the Books is a fun, fast-paced reading competition for students in grades 5–8. The BOB team meets after school every other Tuesday to prepare by reading and discussing titles from the official Diocesan BOB reading list. Team members are quizzed on their knowledge of the books and work together to get ready for the annual Diocesan Battle of the Books competition, where they represent our school in a test of teamwork and literary knowledge.

Chess Club offers students in grades 5–8 a fun and challenging after-school opportunity to sharpen their strategic thinking through the classic game of chess. The club meets one afternoon every other week, and the cost is $5 per student per session. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned player, Chess Club is a great way to learn, compete, and connect with fellow players.

Club Purple is open to all K–8 students who are military-connected, including those with a parent, guardian, or grandparent serving or retired from active duty or the reserves. This supportive, once-a-month after-school club focuses on team-building and resiliency skills, helping students build friendships and a strong sense of community as they celebrate the unique strengths of military families.

Drama Club is open to students in grades 4–8 and offers a fun, creative space to explore the world of theater. During the first semester, students learn the fundamentals of stage performance—including theater vocabulary, stage directions, body movement, and stage presence. In the spring, they put those skills into action by producing and performing a full musical production. Past shows have included Godspell Jr., Dear Edwina Jr., and Schoolhouse Rock Jr., giving students the chance to shine on stage and build confidence through the performing arts.

Our Drumline meets once a week and brings high-energy rhythm and school spirit to events throughout the year. Open to enthusiastic student musicians, the Drumline performs at pep rallies and other school gatherings, adding excitement and entertainment through powerful percussion and teamwork.

Flag Football is a non-contact version of American football where players work to stop the play by removing flags from their opponents rather than tackling. Students in 7th and 8th grade are invited to try out for the team, which practices during the early months of the school year in preparation for a competitive tournament. The team focuses on skill development, strategy, teamwork, and school spirit.

Lectors are entrusted with proclaiming the Sacred Scripture readings—excluding the Gospel—during Thursday School Masses. They may also lead the Prayers of the Faithful and, in the absence of a psalmist, recite the Responsorial Psalm between readings. This important ministry helps bring the Word of God to life for the school community.

The National Junior Honor Society reflects our school’s dedication to the core values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Open to students in grades 7 and 8, NJHS helps young leaders develop the knowledge and skills necessary to become well-rounded contributors to our school, community, and beyond.

Safety Patrol members serve at assigned morning and afternoon posts to help ensure the safe and orderly arrival and dismissal of students, as well as assist adults throughout the school day. Patrols are expected to be courteous, follow all school rules, and arrive on time wearing the proper uniform. Open to students in grades 5–8, Safety Patrol members also have the exciting opportunity to participate in a summer field trip to Washington, D.C.

Student Council actively discusses important issues within the school and supports exciting student projects and initiatives. Meetings are held regularly, and information is communicated to the student body. Through their homeroom representatives, students have the opportunity to exchange ideas and offer suggestions, fostering a healthy and productive dialogue that benefits the entire school community.
