Beth Umberger is one of ACS’s fourth grade teachers.
She teaches religion, science, math, as well as reading and language arts.
Mrs. Umberger has been on the ACS Faculty since the 2017-18 school year and educating students since 1989 after graduating from Florida State University’s Early Childhood Education College with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
She has added English as a Second Language to her Professional Certificate K-6 with the Florida Department of Education. Since then she has earned her National Board certificate as an Early Childhood Generalist.
Additionally she holds CET mentor teacher credentials and ESE certification.
Mrs. Umberger has completed her Catechist Certification Level I and serves at school Mass as Extraordinary Minister of the Holy Eucharist. At her home parish, Scared Heart Fleming Island, she serves as a Lector and on the Altar Committee. In addition she enjoys volunteering with the Catholic Council of Catholic Women of Sacred Heart.
Clay County Schools Teacher of the Year selected Mrs. Umberger in 2016 to represent Thunderbolt Elementary School.
Mrs. Umberger recently recertified as a Kagan School Trainer, forty-year brain researched based structures to engage students in the classroom.
