MIDDLEBURG – A veteran educator and administrator will be the new principal at Annunciation Catholic School after an exhaustive search by pastors and community stakeholders.
Victoria Farrington has worked in Catholic elementary schools in South Florida for more than 30 years. She will fill the position being vacated by current principal Jack Mullarkey whose last day will be June 30.
Farrington began as a teacher at an inner-city school in Miami, taught for eight years, then served as the school’s principal for three years, according to an email sent May 29 to Annunciation parents, staff and stakeholders. She is currently the assistant principal at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School in Boca Raton, Fla., a position she has held for the past 19 years.
She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dallas with a double major in Classics and Political Philosophy and a master’s degree from Florida Atlantic University in Educational Leadership. She is certified by the State of Florida in Latin, Political Science, Elementary Education and Educational Leadership. Farrington also holds certifications in Clinical Education, Echoes of Faith Catechesis, Virtus Facilitation and Compliance Administration.
"Miss Farrington believes it is an honor and a privilege to work in a Catholic school, in an environment dedicated to sharing the life and love of Jesus," states the email. "She feels that Catholic schools are uniquely situated to revitalize the Church because schools not only pass on the teachings of Jesus but can also actively promote the faith formation of the entire family."
