Annunciation Catholic School sits on a beautifully landscaped nine-acre campus adjacent to St. Luke’s Catholic Church. Five permanent brick and stucco buildings house twenty classrooms, art studio, music studio, science lab, administration offices and “health room,” and the media center containing the library and technology lab. The open-air lunch pavilion is located near the kitchen which prepares hot lunches daily. The primary and middle grades buildings each have their own age-appropriate playgrounds. There are two regulation sized playing fields for physical education classes and conference games in soccer and softball.
The safety and security of every student is a paramount concern to the faculty and staff. Annunciation has an Emergency Management Plan in place and teachers and staff have planned and practiced for a variety of situations. Drills for fire, bomb, tornado, and campus intruders are held regularly so all are familiar with the plans. Open lines of communication are maintained with authorities in the county and diocese. Intercoms and telephones connect all classrooms and buildings with the school office.
Exterior classroom and hallway doors are kept locked and only accessible with keys. Perimeter gates are also kept locked. Everything possible has been done to plan for the safety and security of our students in an emergency.
Students arrive in the morning and can be admitted to the courtyard at 7:15a.m. when teacher supervision is in place. At dismissal, students remain in the classroom with their teachers until their car arrives and their name is called over the intercom.
Any adult over the 18 and older must complete the SAFE Environment Program. This is for Employees as well as Volunteers. Please click the SAFE Environment links for the paperwork.
